Al final en un par de días he conseguido acabar con el dragón. Ha quedado mejor de lo que esperaba, además de haberlo pintado en marrones, un tono diferente. Y luego, cuando ya estaba todo acabado... me dio por meter gore y puse esos dos cuerpos sangrantes...

RETO PERSONAL: PINTAR EL DRAGÓN DE GW EN TRES DÍAS

Hoy es 26, y son las seis de la tarde, así que me quedan poco más de tres días para que se acabe El Desafío de Junio, y he decidido pintar el dragón de GW, una figura que al principo era una pasada, pero que con el paso del tiempo ha quedado en un dragón chulo. 

Tengo pintados 4 dragones ya, además de tener otros tantos esperando los pinceles, y quizás sea el más feo... pero en su momento fue una pasada.

Voy a meterle mano ahora mismo, y creo que va a ir pintado en rojo, aunque aún no lo tengo claro, ya tengo dos rojos, además de uno blanco y uno azul... ¿y marrón?... ¿o verde?... no sé, no sé.

DRAGÓN BLANCO

Por fin he acabado el Dragón Blanco, una figura que tenía entre ceja y ceja acabar y que he intentado hacerlo varias veces en El Desafío sin tener éxito, esta vez si lo he conseguido, y aunque creo que es muy mejorable, creo que la peana le da un plus de calidad, al menos es mi opinión.

PRIMERAS CAPAS EN EL DRAGÓN

Pues nada, empiezo el trabajo con el Dragón del Magma para El Desafío de Enero de 2021, un nuevo año, un nuevo Desafío que afronto con ganas, a ver si no se me pasan, como me suele ocurrir. 

Al final he decidido que el dragón será blanco, así rompo esquemas y además practico con un color que es muy puñetero para trabajarlo.

Llevo años detrás de poder pillar el Dragón de Magma de Forge World, y hoy por fin me ha llegado. A un muy buen precio he conseguido por fin tener este pedazo de miniatura que quiero pintar en breve para mi ejercito de Moria. 

Me encanta esta figura, ahora llega el momento de dar el do de pecho a la hora de pintarlo.

Ya he dado los reflejos del fuego al dragón, no los he querido acentuar mucho porque no me gusta sobrecargarlos, creo que han quedado lo suficientemente marcados como para que se noten pero sin llamar demasiado la atención. Se los he dado en la cabeza, cuernos, parta inferior del ala y un poco en el pecho. Creo que lo único que me queda es dar un poco de luz de fuego en la lengua, que se me ha olvidado tacarla y debe llevar reflejo también...

Me falta decidir un par de cosas y acabar de pegar la peana a una de dragón para tener mi nuevo Dragón acabado.

Me falta aún un poco, no estoy convencido del fuego que echa y tampoco de si darle o no luces, las luces que provocaría el fuego en la piel del bicho.

Ayer fue el día. Estuve un buen rato con los pinceles, y por fin pude avanzar un poco más con el Dragón.

Para empezar ya tengo las escamas de hueso pintadas, con dos o tres capas, la base y unas luces, pero aún me faltan algunas más. Además la cresta al final la he pintado en rojos, y he ido metiendo varios tonos para acabar con naranjas, no de me disgusta como está quedando eso.

También estuve pintando escamas de la piel con varios tonos de rojos e incluso algún naranja o amarillo anaranjado, quiero darle más caña a eso, cuanto más colorido creo que quedará mejor.

Y las alas, a las que he ido dando luces, también en rojo, por la parte superior y un poco por la inferior, que al final no voy a pintar en azul, he decidido que todo rojo.

Tuve tiempo también de pintar un poco la cabeza, unos primeros toques en los ojos, lengua y dientes.

En fin, que saqué un rato y pude darle un empujón, a ver si este fin de semana o durante la siguiente consigo acabarlo. Estoy buscando cómo hacerle el fuego, voy a hacer un fuego de quita y pon que vaya con un clip en la boca para poder ponerlo o quitarlo al gusto...

Yesterday was the day. I had a good time with the brushes, and finally I was able to advance a little more with the Dragon.

Otro día en el que he podido pintar un ratito, no mucho tiempo, lo justo para dar la misma capa base que le di al cuerpo esta vez a las alas. No tengo claro si pintarlas por abajo también en rojos, lo mismo me pongo con azules, aunque creo que tanto color no va a quedar bien.

En fin, que he pintado otra hilera de escamas ahuesadas y me estoy pensando en la superior que recorre toda la columna del bicho si pintarla también así o va a ser demasiado. Cuando decida me liaré con ello, porque sino hay que pintarlo de rojos...

COMIENZA EL TRABAJO CON EL NUEVO DRAGÓN

Me he aventurado para intentar acabar el dragón en este junio recién comenzado. Lo primero fue lavarlo bien y quitarle algunas líneas de molde, porque aunque viene ya montado, como casi todas las minis de juegos de mesa, que es lo que es este dragón, aún había cosas que quedaban feas, y las he eliminado, además de poner un poco de masilla en algunas juntas.

Una vez acabado eso el otro día procedí a imprimarlo en negro, y ayer por la tarde comencé el pintado, una vez decidido que sería rojo. No estaba seguro del color, pero al final me he dicho que aunque sea un clásico un dragón rojo, no está de más que este que es espectacular sea rojo, ya pintaré alguno de los otros en verde, azul o marrón.

Lo único que hice ayer fue darle varias capas de pincel seco con varios marrones y rojos para ir fijando lo que quiero hacer. Además pinté algunas partes con el color hueso, a modo de partes óseas, o al menos a mí me lo parecen.

DRAGON AND BALROG ALTERNATIVE

Por fin me ha llegado lo que pedí del kickstarter de Time of Legends: Joan of Arc. La caja es inmensa, y la verdad es que no recordaba que hubiese pedido también la mini del "Balrog", pero al abrirla lo he visto y... ok, me he acordado.

Primero el Balrog, una mini grande, no muy detallada, pero a la que con un poco de masilla y esculpiendo alguna cosilla se puede dar una gran apariencia de Balrog, las alas habrá que retocarlas un poco también. En la foto está Gandalf para las proporciones, es impresionantemente grande.

Hace un par de semanas llegó por fin el paquete con el mecenazgo de Nocturna Models, una compañía interesantísima para  pintar cosas bien, pero no pude resistirme a pillar el Dragón, porque es una auténtica chulada, y lo pillé en Early Bird con lo cual me ahorré algo más.

Y lo dicho, hace un par de semanas me llegó el paquete. El Dragón viene dentro de una cajita chusílisima, se agradecen este tipo de detalles.

El pasado fin de semana me llegaron por fin las piezas que me faltaban del Dragón de Tamurkhân, y me llegó también el Merwyrm, que voy a convertir en un dragón de las cavernas.

Las miniaturas son de gran calidad, con todo lujo de detalles, y en el caso del Dragón de Tamurkhan, de unas dimensiones colosales.

El Merwyrm viene con una peana marinera, como de ruinas de un naufragio muy chula, quizás se podría intentar hacerlo como medio sumergido en agua, pero con mis experiencias con el agua artificial no creo que me arriesgue ni a pensarlo.

Por fin puedo dar por terminado el Warpfire Dragon, tras unos días para conseguir sacar las fotos y editarlas, os subo cómo ha quedado el bicho.

Desde la última vez que subí algo he estado tintando hojas, rehaciendo los ojos del hobbit y añadiendo algunas lucees más al dragón.

Y ahora una tanda de detallitos varios...

En fin, espero que os guste cómo ha quedado, yo me doy por satisfecho, y con ganas de meterme en otro embolao de estos gordos, puesto que creo que la cosa ha ido bien.

WARPFIRE DRAGON 07

Hace un par de días que le di el empujón casi definitivo al Dragón, por delante decir que todavía le queda trabajo, pero me gustaría llevarlo al II Torneo Warlotus de Granada este finde, a ver si lo tengo acabado o casi.

En fin, lo primero fue pintar al hobbit acojonado que va debajo del árbol. Me he cogido un Frodo (creo que era un Frodo) que está en cuclillas y mirando hacia arriba, me pareció una pose muy buena para mostrarlo asombrado de lo que se ha posado encima del árbol. Lo he pintado en tonos oscuros, para que el Dragón no lo vea fácilmente, eso sí, la chaquetilla en tono amarillento.

La verdad es que en las fotos sale fatal el pobre, la cara no está tan mal...

Y lo he colocado en la parte lateral del árbol.

Lo siguiente ha sido lo de ir pegando las hojitas al árbol, una a una... bastante trabajo, la verdad, y luego poner más hojas en el suelo, tengo prevista una cosa, pero seguramente la haga cuando venga del torneo. En fin, que con todo más o menos listo lo que queda es tintar las hojas del árbol (seguramente las tintaré en rojos y marrones) e ir dando algunas pinceladas para dejarlo mejor, meter más luces al Dragón, corregir en lo posible la cara del Hobbit para que no parezca la de Belén Esteban y cosas así.

Lo dicho a falta de pequeños retoques el Dragón está casi listo.

WARPFIRE DRAGON 06

Más avances tras un par de días de pintura en el árbol y peana.

Para el árbol he decidido unos tonos marrones claros, me encontré una foto de un árbol que me gustó y he intentado hacer algo parecido, dentro de mis posibilidades, claro.

Y nada, con unos cuantos marrones, con unos cuantos grises y el blanco he ido dando capas hasta conseguir más o menos lo que buscaba, más o menos porque todavía le voy a dar más toques, esto no va a quedar así, me gusta en el árbol de la foto el tono rojizo que hay en la rama de la derecha, e intentaré hacer algo parecido en alguna rama del mío...

En la peana opté por un color oscuro, he usado dos o tres tonos de marrón y la parte rocosa, que no quería que se confundiera con el árbol, así que partí de un Incubi Darkness, un tono ligeramente azulado, como base. Luego grises combinados al gusto hasta unas últimas luces con blanco.

Y una vez pintada la peana era la hora de meterle un poco de césped, con tres tipos diferentes de los que tengo he ido haciendo combinaciones, quizás un poco más oscuro habría quedado mejor, pero me doy por satisfecho. Por último unas florecillas blancas para dar un toque diferente y primera parte de la peana acabada.

Por último he vuelto a montar el Dragón en el árbol, para ir viendo cómo quedará. Todavía no está pegado ni mucho menos, aunque pronto creo que lo dejaré fijo, ya que lo que me queda (una vez retoque un poco las ramas y el tronco) no me molesta con el bicho encima, incluso me facilita la maniobrabilidad del conjunto...

Ahora toca pintar a los hobbits o el hobbit (todavía no tengo claro cuántos pondré, dos lo veo un poco saturado y con uno queda extraño), y luego ponerme con las hojitas, además de un par de sorpresas que me guardo para el final, jeje.

WARPFIRE DRAGON 05

Acabada la Feria es momento de seguir pintando, jeje.

Lo último que he estado haciendo es convertir la columna en el árbol que ya os comenté, transformarlo en un árbol viejo y grande sobre el que se ha posado el Dragón, y bajo el cual irán uno o dos hobbits acojonados.

Para empezar primero me dediqué a enganchar trocitos de alambre a las ramas de madera esas que cogí en la Duna de Cádiz, y enmasillar un poco, intentando dar formas no rectas, sino naturales y tortuosas...

Además, una vez estuvo seco el enganche me puse a enmasillar también los ramales principales y dejar en el alambre solamente las últimas ramitas, que soportaran las hojas.

En la base puse un trozo de corteza de pino para simular que aflora una roca desde la tierra, para que no fuera una peana tan sosa, aunque con los hobbits ya tiene un toquecito.

Luego llegó el momento cumbre, coincidiendo con el comienzo de la Feria, tuve que elegir entre acabar la miniatura a tiempo para El Desafío 2014 Abril y el Challenge de The One Ring aun no dejándola como quería, o desistir en mi intento y conseguir acabar la miniatura a mi gusto, y entre la Vitrina y la Feria vi que no tendría tiempo para un acabado decente, así que mejor despacito.

El paso decisivo era cortar el Dragón por la cola, para que el árbol quedara suelo y así poder pintarlo mejor, sin miedo a manchar el monstruo y más fácil para llegar a todos los recovecos...

Ahí están las dos partes en las que está ahora mismo la miniatura...

Y por último ayer saqué un ratito para ir poniéndole cortecitas a la columna y hacer la transformación completa, he intentado que parezca que el Dragón estrangula al árbol con la cola, haciendo que la corteza quiebre por la presión de la cola, a ver si el efecto sale bien...

Y poco más llevo, acabo de imprimar en negro y esta tarde si saco un rato me pongo a pintar el arbolito, no sé si lo haré en colores negros o en colores blanquecinos como tenía pensado en un principio, como si fuera un viejo chopo, aunque la verdad es que este árbol de chopo tiene poco...
